How together.kiwi works

  • The together.kiwi channel gathers video content from contributors in communities everywhere (individuals and organisations),

  • produces programmes (local and nation-wide) from that content in the together.kiwi studio in Auckland,

  • and streams those programmes to devises and televisions across the country.

  • together.kiwi organise contributors in local communities to make videos of local news, events, activities and opinion to be produced into programmes and streamed on the together.kiwi channel. All they need is a smart phone or video recorder.

  • Individuals or organisations can be contributors to the together.kiwi channel.

  • Contributors are volunteers supported by a crew of programme producers.

  • Initially contributors will be recruited from the Student Voluntary Army and Age Concern and later more widely from communities across the country.

  • After contributors have made their videos they upload them to the together.kiwi You Tube channel.


  • Production crew download local video content from the together.kiwi you Tube channel.

  • together.kiwi crew select content to be produced into programmes for streaming on the together.kiwi channel.

  • together.kiwi programmes will be produced and directed to a high standard in our production studio located in Auckland.

  • Programmes will be in three or more categories.

    • Category one will be news and current events programmes for nation-wide viewing each day.

    • The second category will be speciality (Lily will help me with more description) programmes (broad range of topics) streamed weekly or monthly then archived.

    • The third category will be local programmes produced specifically for the community from where the content is derived. Any community can have their own programme, or example the Mangonui@together.kiwi.

  • Programmes will be available for viewing and then archived for people who want to view programmes at their leisure.

  • Programmes will be available in a menu of places, topics.


  • Daily, weekly news and current affairs programmes will be produced and presented from the studio in Auckland

  • Documentary, arts, cultural and specialty programmes will be presented in the studio or on location as they are produced.

  • Programme creators will have access to the together.kiwi studio for post production.

  • The together.kiwi studio will become a hive of creative activity for people to share and explore ideas about creating content for kiwi’s at home and for international audiences.

  • All programmes will be archived and can be viewed at leisure.

  • Programmes will be streamed directly online at the together.kiwi website and through the together.kiwi You Tube channel.

  • together.kiwi programmes will have a presence on most social media platforms.

  • together.kiwi will be available in an app with can be downloaded from google play and the apple app store.

  • Programmes will also be distributed through community networks, not-for-profit organisations, businesses and organisations wanting to make together.kiwi accessible to their workers and members.

  • Links to programmes will be emailed and texted to people who subscribe to the channel.

  • The together.kiwi and it’s programmes will be available on Sky, Freeview and satellite.
